My toy has a plastic/rubber smell.
This is common with new items. Air the product out and wash with warm water and a mild, toy-safe cleaner. Light baking-soda rinse can help; scent fades with proper care.
What lube should I use?
Rule of thumb: “like dissolves like.” Match lube to material:
- Water-based: Safest, condom-friendly, great all-rounder for most toys.
- Silicone-based: Long-lasting, super slick. Do not use on silicone toys unless the label explicitly says “silicone-toy safe.”
- Oil-based: Not condom-safe and may degrade latex; generally avoid for most toy use.
